¹What is Open Graph and why should I care?

Open Graph is a set of hidden code within the pages of your site that make it easier for social networks to grab and share the content of your page. This is especially important because it give you the power to control the information that is shared to social media when your customers click a social media like/share button. It also works when people directly share your web page URLs.

²What is scheduled store hours?

You can set up an entire calendar year of store hours so your website automatically updates and shows a message on holidays when you are closed, when you are on vacation, or preset your store hours for every day in December. Set up your store hours as far ahead as you like so you don't have to worry about them later.

³What is the ADA compliance feature set?

The American Disability Act (ADA) provides a detailed list of ideas and methods to improve a website for usability by those with visual impairments. For the moment, those usability guidelines only apply to desktop websites since the screen reader tools exist on desktop computers and not mobile devices. The guidelines stipulate that you should organize the content on your site in such a way to make it easier for screen readers to follow. There are also hidden code that should be added to a site to help a screen reader explain what is shown on the screen. Additionally, the guidelines strongly recommend the use of font sizes and color schemes to make reading the screen easier.

GlitterPaw has the hidden code built into it's standard codebase. As such, there are built-in benefits for screen readers. Depending on your selected service plan, we will test every page of your site with the WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool and correct as many errors as possible for each page.

⁴What is Schema.org?

Schema.org publishes a set of extra markup language that can be hidden in the code of your website. This hidden code makes it easier for search engines to decipher different areas of your page without guessing. With this code it is easy to tell search engines the difference between a product description and a product price, or the number of stars of a testimonial and the written review associated with those stars.

We've made sure that the most important schema.org tags are already built into our codebase and we work on expanding that every time Google makes a new recommendation.

It is our belief that these hidden schema.org tags automatically give a better chance for our customer's website to rank better than their local competitors, even without the extra effort of monthly SEO.

⁵What is the Content Scheduling app?

GlitterPaw has several methods of scheduling content to change, appear, or disappear on your website at any future date.

Page content is easy to schedule. Every block of content on individual web pages has a timer to turn them on or off on a set date. This is especially useful for announcements like store events. You can show the event details on your home page until the day of the event, but then they turn off automatically so you don't have to worry about it.

If you're really adventurous, you can use the global Content Swap app (included in the Creator Extension Bundle) to rewrite every page of your website in preparation for a huge special event. Take your time and plan out this massive content swap as a special promotion to surprise all your customers. One flip of a switch will change everything, then change it back at the end of the day or when the promotion is over. The Photo Gallery is another self contained content app that allows you to manage various collections of photos. These collections can be easily displayed on your site anywhere or the gallery can be set up on it's on collection of pages.

The Photo Gallery is *not* intended for use with product photography because the product catalog system has it's own way of creating galleries of photos. It's better to reserve the Photo Gallery for all the photos taken at one of your store events.

Although the normal content management system does have a repository for CMS related photos, the Photo Gallery is a better way to manage images when you have a lot associated with one topic.

⁸What is the Store Events app?

The Store Events app isn't just a layout to display what's happening. This is a specialized page app and template that is designed to inject details of your upcoming event into Google. When used correctly, and if it's accepted by Google, your event has a chance to appear within the Google Maps app on a smartphone as an activity suggestion for people nearby.
